The look: metallic and decorative options

Metallic epoxy uses a clear pigmented topcoat with reflective metallic flakes that move like liquid as the resin cures. The result is a floor with depth — it looks 3D under light. The durability: chemistry and top coats

Aesthetic alone is not enough in Orange County. Standard epoxy yellows under UV and softens above 90°F surface temp — both common conditions in Orlando. Our system uses an epoxy base coat for adhesion and color, with a polyaspartic clear top coat. Polyaspartic is UV-stable, cures in 2–6 hours instead of 24–72, and tolerates Orange County humidity. The combination is what gets you to 15–20 years of service life.

The prep: where most installs fail

Most peeling failures in Orange County trace back to skipped prep. We diamond-grind every slab to a CSP-3 surface profile (industry standard), repair cracks with epoxy filler, and run ASTM F1869 calcium chloride and F2170 in-situ relative humidity probes for 24–72 hours before opening a kit. If the slab tests above 75% RH or above 4 lbs/1000 sq ft moisture vapor emission, we use a moisture-tolerant primer or defer the install. This is non-negotiable.
